2.5 Layer Forming FabricCommonly known as 2.5-layer forming fabric, extra support double layer forming fabrics is to further improve the characteristics of the double-layer design. It's a standard double layer forming fabric with an additional weft yarn on the paper side of the fabric. There is an improvement in paper sheet formation, smoothness, reduction of wire marks,s and better cleaning of the showers. Extra support double layer forming fabrics for paper making is commonly used in newsprint and fine paper production or in applications that use very short fibers.
Polyester 2.5 layers forming fabric are also known as support shute double layer forming fabric or double layer extra designs. It's a standard double layer design with an extra shute yarn added on the forming side between the 2 regular cross-direction yarns. This yarn increases the pulp fiber support and meanwhile creates a more open structure as the amount of wear side yarns is reduced, compared with the forming side.
2.5 layer forming fabric's weaving effect greatly increases the fiber support index due to the addition of a fine weave at the top. The ratio of the top and bottom wefts is 2:1. It suitable for paperboard, newsprint, writing paper, tissue paper, printing paper, and kraft paper.
